While not the best-known cigar in this format, the Saint Luis Rey Serie A offers a lot. Well-built and complex, the aromas of wood, earth, and spice predominate, very well balanced, with sweet notes of caramel and vanilla, and a great freshness of stone fruit and green berries. The cigar is free of harshness; it is never overly potent, but remains somewhere between a medium-bodied and a full-bodied cigar. It has moderately fine veining, with small bumps through the wrapper, and a beautiful, discreet box press, with four transparent sides. It feels firm from head to toe when pinched. Finally, it offers great aging potential.
